Snowstorms, Gargage Sales, Tulips, and Goose Eggs!!

This goose on the rocks by the waterfall at Thanksgiving Point seems to be protecting one BIG goose egg!!
Today was a beautiful day here in Utah!! We were supposed to be in Colorado visiting the Goodman family. It snowed across Wyoming and Colorado yesterday with bad road warnings issued so we didn't make the trip yesterday. We thought we could go today but when we got up at 4 and checked the road conditions we found that I-80 was closed from Rawlins to Cheyenne. We are so sorry to miss the visit and the girl's piano recital but we will try again soon for the visit. We decided to go to some garage sales with Becky and Adam to find some much needed baby things for Adam. Since Dad had the morning off from the bakery he came with us. We started in American Fork and progressed south to Orem. The first few were duds and we didn't find anything but then we found a very nice wooden rocker for $20. It needs a little touching up but it is strong and sturdy. My very good friend Billie (the garage sale expert and queen) had sent Becky some money as a baby gift and we felt it was so appropriate that we used that gift for a garage sale gem!! We had to enlist Grandpa to come and pick it up for us in his van. Luckily it was only a few blocks from his house. He asked if we wanted him to follow us to some more in case we found somethings else too big for the car. We said the only other big things we were looking for was a crib or a dresser and we didn't think there would be much chance of that so he went home. Well of course you know that we found a crib in great condition at the next sale. It was still in Orem but a little further away from Grandpa's house. So he was sweet and came back and picked up the crib. We also got a cute bedding set that went with.. We went on to some sales in Provo and found a few more books and toys but not much. We stopped for lunch at Los Hermonos (UMMM) and then went back to Becky's and Grandpa delivered our treasures. Scott missed all the fun because he was at work. Dad and I wanted to go to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point and Becky and Adam decided to come with us while Scott studied for finals. We sure wish he could have joined us. It was a beautiful walk on a perfect day.

You should have been there to "tiptoe through the tulips" with us.

Adam and Becky are enjoying the beautiful day and the beautiful gardens.

There are 250,000 tulips planted at Thanksgiving Point. Becky said she never dreamed there were so many different kinds and colors of tulips.

We also saw this owl sitting on a ledge by the waterfall.

A very nice lady who seemed to be a professional photographer offered to take a picture of the 4 of us saying that the grandparents should be in the picture with the cute baby and Mom.

This waterfall is said to be the one of the largest man made waterfalls in the world. Becky and Adam are standing in front of a small part of it.

These are some of the most unusual tulips we saw today.

We visited the children's garden where Becky found a lighthouse to climb.
